UPDATE – Containers for Change delayed
The State Government has announced that the launch of Containers for Change will be delayed. We were scheduled to launch 2 June 2020. A final decision on a new commencement date will be made by the Government in August, with a view to launching in November 2020 or June 2021.
Our mission is to increase recycling and reduce the number of drink containers that litter our environment in Western Australia. Making change is easy… From 2 June 2020, sign up for a Scheme ID, collect eligible containers, return your eligible containers to Bridging The Gap’s Containers for Change Refund Point in Port Kennedy, and claim your refund. You have the option to donate your 10c per container refund to a community group, charity or school of your choice.
What is an eligible container?
Most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard beverage containers between 150ml and 3L are eligible for a refund.
Become a community partner
We can arrange collection of eligible containers from local businesses and sporting clubs and get the refund straight to you. As a Community partner with Bridging the Gap -Containers for Change you will also be helping local people into employment, and providing training and work experience opportunities.
